DR. C. RAJA MOHAN

 

Dr. C. Raja Mohan is Professor of South Asian Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and a columnist for the Indian Express.
Dr. C. Raja Mohan is regarded as one of the leading strategic analysis of Indian foreign policy. He also served on India’s National Security Advisory Board during 1998-2000. His book Crossing the Rubicon : The Shaping of India’s New Foreign Policy was launched by Penguin India in April 2003.
In Crossing the Rubicon, Dr. Mohan examines the reworking of India’s relations with the major powers at the turn of the twenty-first century. Notable are his behind-the-scenes accounts of India’s initiative to transform its rapport with the United Studies, and its rejuvenated relationship with post-Soviet Russia. He also examines India’s management of its troubled with China and looks at war and peace with Pakistan.
Dr. Mohan holds a Master’s degree in Nuclear Physics and a Doctorate in International Relations from JawaharlalNehruUniversity in New Delhi. Previously he served as the Washington Correspondent (1993-95) of The Hindu and as a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analysis, New Delhi (1983-92). He was a Jennings Randolph Peace Fellow at the United States Institute of Peace in WashingtonDC during 1992-93.
