How to Collaborate

Educational video programme production is a collaborative activity between the production team of the Centre and academics and researchers of universities and research institutions. The Centre welcomes academics and researchers to provide ideas which could be converted into video programmes. If the ideas are found to be exiting and workable, they may have to develop content covering various aspect of the idea. In most cases, especially in the areas of science and technology, they have to set up experiments in their laboratories and provide other materials needed to convey the content. All collaborating academics and researchers are paid an honorarium as per UGC guidelines.

Several academics and researchers of the University of Calicut and other universities and research organization located within and outside Kerala have been actively collaborating in the production activities of the Centre. Besides the Departments of Botany, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, Folklore, Mass Communication/Journalism and Zoology of the University of Calicut, the other agencies who have collaborated in the production of programmes during the past years are: Sree Chitra Institute of Bio Medical Technology, Trivandrum; Tropical Botanical Garden and Research Institute, Palode, Trivandrum; Central Research Institute, Trivandrum; Kerala Forest Dept, Trivandrum; Kerala Forest Research Institute, Peechi, Thrissur; Cochin University of Science and Technology; Agricultural College, Thrissur; Regional Engineering College, Calicut; and Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Cochin.

Some of the academics and researchers who have collaborated with Centre have won awards for their contribution in making quality video programmes. The award winners are: Dr. T.J. S. Rasool, Senior Scientist, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Trivandrum and Dr. Manish Kumar, Senior Lecturer , Department of Biotechnology, University of Calicut; Dr. S.G.K.Pillai, Dr.R.M.Pillai and Dr. A.D. Damodaran, Scientists at the Central Research Institute, Trivandrum and Mr. Satheesh T, Research Assistant, Centre for Folk Lore Studies, University of Calicut, Vatakara.
